Train to Frövi

Papa escorted Solbritt, Yaya and Grandpa to the train at Central Station.

The Swedish train is very comfortable and the trip went fast.

Farmor Eva was busy in the kitchen the moment we arrived.

All weekend we enjoyed the most delicious Swedish food, including this North Sea Salmon baked on a bed of sea salt.

Kenneth and Eva are great hosts!

Solbritt loves her Farmor.

Solbritt and her cousin Lisen have fun with Farfar.
Yaya and Grandpa and Solbritt had a wonderful weekend in Frövi with Farfar, Farmor and the cousins. Solbritt went to visit Lisen at her house and Hedda and Philip came with Lisen over to Farfar’s and played the day away. We all went to church on Sunday and after a good nap for Solbritt, Farmor took us on a hike in the rain deep into the forest to check out the caves in the afternoon. We had a great time and returned by train to Stockholm on Monday.

Back in Stockholm we were treated to a beautiful sunny day.

Olle took off work so we could all make an outing into the city.

The Kulturehus is our jumping off point from the subway to explore one of the islands with castle and gardens.

We hadn’t ventured very far when the Blue Door Restaurant welcomed us to come in for an early lunch.

Cynthia and I were waiting in line for a long time until we figured this guy wasn’t going anywhere.

The Swedes are so practical that they even display the dessert table first thing upon entering the restaurant so that I am reminded to save room!

Cynthia chose the quiche and tomato salad and I had the herring and potatoes. I couldn’t decide on dessert so I had the sampler version!
