End of Week 48
Almost a year in the process, we now have a fully functioning kitchen and I am enjoying great cuisine coming from chefs Julia and Cynthia. But it caused me to reflect back on what the house looked like one year ago when we walked through for the first time with our Realtor Susan Hughes.

The sight of this kitchen was not at all pleasing. The black cabinets had to go, that was for sure. In fact, there really wasn’t anything in the room that was worth saving.

The south end of the kitchen or the “sun room” wasn’t much better. The laundry was set up here and that would also need to be relocated.

The black cabinets all disappeared and now the new IKEA Kitchen has risen to take its rightful place in this Swedish house. Cynthia loves the large sink!

And she has a gas range once again with a LEVEL cooking surface- a great idea that she has missed with her last two stoves.
Still more to do before we say the kitchen is complete- like crafting a peninsula/island out of some old bowling alley lane material that Julia and Steffen purchased from their friend Max. Wait and see how that turns out!
